Jakub Marciniak
Over 15 years in the construction industry. An engineer with hands-on building experience and a certified trainer in decorative techniques. I still work with a trowel in hand - because no theory replaces having your own trousers covered in paint.
I came up with this motto after years of running training courses. I watched trainees under my guidance perform the hardest decorative techniques flawlessly - yet struggle on their own jobs. Knowledge and skill are two different things. That is why today, instead of selling expensive courses, I would rather give you a reliable source of knowledge for free, and the product for a fraction of the price of a course - so you can practice as much as you need.
My story in brief
| 2010-present | Co-founded the building-materials wholesaler MB Jakub (VAT no. 6070064190) in Chodzież. I had been gaining hands-on building experience even earlier - working on construction sites before university. |
| 2010-2015 | Five years of engineering studies in Mechanical Engineering. A technical foundation that to this day lets me read TDS data sheets and understand material properties, not just their trade names. |
| 2014-2020 | My own construction crew - full builds of detached houses, mostly renovations. Six years of working with my own hands. This is where I learned what really works in decorative materials, and what only looks good in photos. |
| 2018-present | Opened an online building-materials store. Tinted, made-to-order products are its specialty. |
| 2020-2025 | Training in decorative techniques. In my courses I don't show perfect examples in perfect conditions - I show what can go wrong, where you can mess up and how to fix it so the client signs off with top marks. It's the one thing no standard course covers. Knowing how you can ruin your work is more valuable than knowing how to do it right, because you learn what not to do. Wall decoration shouldn't be a fixed formula - the only thing that should limit you is your imagination. |
| 2022-present | Mybudio.eu - a store dedicated exclusively to decorative finishes. Orders are usually fulfilled in 1-2 days thanks to procedures I wrote myself and the experienced team that runs it. |
| 2026-present | I'm moving all my training knowledge online. Articles, how-to videos, concrete answers to the questions I hear from customers on the phone. Instead of paying PLN 2,000-5,000 for a course - grab a PLN 50 tester and practice with reliable knowledge taken from here. |

I still go to work in trousers stained with paint and decorative render - because I'm still working on new techniques and styles in the mybudio.eu showroom in Chodzież.

Nobody likes talking about failures, but that knowledge is the most valuable of all - in the spirit of the saying "learn from other people's mistakes".
